I’m running for City Council because I want LA to work for every family in every neighborhood.
Los Angeles made a better life possible for my family when my parents moved here from Mexico and Texas in the 1950s.
Growing up in Los Feliz and Sherman Oaks, I played in our local parks and studied in our public libraries. With the support of our community, I was able to graduate from Georgetown University, become an attorney, serve in the administrations of the Mayor of Los Angeles and the Governor of California, and cover national politics for ABC News.
I’ve seen both the difference public policy can make in individual lives and the way it can be warped by powerful interests. For 15 years, I have worked to connect everyday citizens with their government.
As your City Councilmember, I will focus on:
1. Fixing Streets;
2. Protecting Neighborhoods; and
3. Building Out Our Transit System
Most importantly, I will never stop walking our district, block by block, neighborhood by neighborhood, so I can meet with you directly and learn about the improvements you want to see in our community.
Together, we will build a Los Angeles that works for everyone.
All the best,
